The NAACP West Volusia Branch is honored to recognize Abby Reid-Williams as one of the 2025 David H. Staples Scholarship recipients.

Abby is a graduate of University High School, where she earned a 3.4 GPA. She has been accepted to Daytona State College and plans to continue her studies at the University of Central Florida, where she will pursue a degree in English.

Reflecting on her journey, Abby shares:
“As someone who has seen both the transformative power of education and the persistent barriers that many face, I am driven by a desire to not only better myself but also to uplift those around me.”

Abby is also committed to service, giving her time through volunteer work at the African American Museum of Arts, the Sanborn Center, and Halifax Hospital.

Her references highlight her natural ability to inspire others:
“Abby has a natural ability to lead and has taken a leadership role many times during group work, guiding her peers with clarity and confidence.”
