The West Volusia Branch NAACP will be celebrating its 29th Freedom Fund and Award Banquet. This is an opportunity for the branch to celebrate members of the West Volusia community. Three students will receive a scholarship for college. Originally, the branch offered the VIP session at 6:00 pm but, due to high demand the branch thought it would be a good idea to extend the time so that all VIP ticketholders will have an opportunity to mingle. The branch is pleased to announce that the VIP session which is scheduled for June 29th at 5:30 pm at the Center of Deltona is sold out. The VIP session will feature an opportunity to meet the movers and shakers in the area for a champagne toast. Some guests include the Honorable Judge Hubert Grimes which will be the guest speaker for the evening. Others include but not limited to Florida Senator Tom Wright, Volusia County Councilwoman Barbara Girtman, and other professionals in the area from corporations such as UPS, Advent Health, etc. Regular admission ticketholders will enjoy dinner catered by “Cocky Rooster Café” and music from “The Vibe Band” starting at 7:00pm. Regular admission tickets will remain on sale until June 20th at 11:59 pm.
